PAXE Permit Service Options

Oversize & Overweight Permits

Oversize or overweight permits are generally required when a vehicle or load exceeds standard legal dimensions or weight, including:

  • 80,000 lbs

  • 13'6" high

  • 53' long

  • 8'6" wide

Since permit regulations vary from state to state, we recommend contacting PAXE directly for guidance. We’ll help you identify the permits and route requirements for your specific load.

Trip Permits

An IRP temporary permit may be required when a vehicle operating across state lines does not have current International Registration Plan credentials and either exceeds 26,000 pounds in gross, combined, or registered weight, or operates with three or more axles regardless of weight.

Fuel Permits

An IFTA temporary permit may be required when a vehicle operates across state lines without valid IFTA credentials for the states or Canadian provinces traveled and either exceeds 26,000 pounds with two axles, or operates with three or more axles regardless of weight.

Escort Coordination

Escort coordination may be required when a load exceeds state-specific dimensional thresholds or route conditions call for pilot cars, police escorts, or other travel restrictions, and PAXE can help arrange the appropriate support to keep your move compliant and on schedule.
